Caring for Satin, Silk, Net & Lace

Silk, satin, net and lace are delicate fabrics. With a little care they stay soft, bright and beautiful for much longer.

Washing

• Hand wash in cold or lukewarm water with a mild detergent or baby shampoo.
• Soak gently for 5 to 10 minutes. Do not scrub or twist.
• Wash dark and bright colours (black, maroon, red, navy) separately the first few times.
• If you use a machine, put items in a mesh laundry bag on the delicate cycle, and fasten bra hooks first so they do not snag net and lace.
• Never use bleach.

Drying

• Press out water gently with a towel. Do not wring.
• Dry flat or hang in the shade. Strong sunlight fades colours and weakens elastic.
• Do not tumble dry or put near a heater.

Ironing

• Satin and silk: use the lowest heat, on the reverse side, with a thin cloth in between.
• Net, mesh, lace and glitter details: do not iron. Hang them in the bathroom while you shower and the steam will smooth creases.

Storing

• Store padded bras with cups nested into each other. Never fold a cup in half.
• Keep silk and satin nightwear on padded hangers or folded in a drawer lined with tissue.
• Keep feather and bead details away from rough fabrics that can snag them.

Quick tip

Rotate your bras and let each one rest a day between wears. The elastic recovers, and your bras keep their shape for longer.
